I am a licensed mental health professional located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, specializing in providing services for individuals dealing with disabilities, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues, including various mental health disorders such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), oppositional defiant behavior (ODD), adjustment disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and more.
In my approach to counseling, I prioritize the establishment of strong therapeutic relationships and the creation of a conducive environment. This setting allows clients not only the freedom to explore different aspects of their lives but also the opportunity to achieve personal growth and enhanced functioning. My goal is to assist clients in selecting and integrating behavioral changes into their lives.
I offer counseling services to individuals of diverse age groups, including adults, adolescents, and children within the community. My range of services encompasses individual counseling, family intervention, psychosocial skills development, grief counseling, trauma therapy, and behavior management.
As a qualified professional, I have received comprehensive training in addressing the unique needs of each client. This ensures that evidence-based practices and the highest quality of care are delivered to both individuals receiving services and their families. My primary theoretical framework is rooted in cognitive-behavioral therapy, complemented by elements of client-centered and brief reality therapy. Recognizing that faulty thinking can distort perception, I guide clients in becoming aware of these distortions through restructuring and modification strategies.
My educational background includes a master's degree in mental health counseling, and I hold national certification as a counselor. Additionally, I am a board-approved clinical supervisor and a certified psychiatric rehabilitation practitioner. My commitment is to provide exceptional and tailored care to support the well-being of my clients and their families.

Hello! I am Nekita Brooks, a Licensed Master Social Worker. My mission is to help others heal and reconnect with their most authentic, grounded version of themselves. My approach is person-centered and rooted in empathy, empowerment, and mutual respect.
I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are, walking alongside them with compassion, and holding space for both growth and vulnerability. I use a blend of therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual's needs, with an emphasis on practical tools, emotional insight, and lasting change to support emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness.

I’m a Provisional Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) dedicated to walking alongside individuals on their journey toward healing, growth, and greater self-awareness. I provide counseling services to clients ages 8 and up, offering a safe, non-judgemental, and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Offering this space allows for blending compassion, evidence-based strategies, and just the right amount of humor—because sometimes, laughter really is therapeutic.
I earned my Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and completed my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. My clinical approach is grounded in evidence-based practices and a deep respect for each person’s unique journey. My training includes specialized approaches for trauma, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I also integrate mindfulness-based strategies to help clients build resilience, manage stress, improve emotional regulation, reconnect with themselves in meaningful ways, and stay grounded in the present moment.
I believe in meeting clients exactly where they are. Whether you're navigating trauma, anxiety, life transitions, or just feeling a little stuck, I aim to create a space that’s both safe and empowering—where you can show up fully as yourself (yes, even on the messy days).
Therapy doesn’t have to be heavy all the time. I value humor as a powerful tool for connection, healing, and perspective. Together, we’ll work toward your goals in a way that honors your experiences and keeps the process human, honest, and even a little bit light when it needs to be.
My goal is to support you in moving toward the life you envision—at your own pace and in your own way.
Let’s work together to help you thrive, heal, and grow.
