During my internship here at Always Hope I aspire to gain invaluable experience and insight into the field of counseling.

 My name is Shalynn Schexnayder and I am a Medical Assistant with a certification from River Parish Community College. I am a Louisiana native born and raised in the wonderful city of Gonzales. When I'm not working, I like to devote my time to my amazing daughter and family. It brings me so much joy to join the Always Hope family and hopefully use my newfound skills to bring joy and hope to our patients as well. 

I am a student at Northwestern State University online working towards my Bachelor’s in Social Work, and I’ll be graduating in August of 2025. After that, I plan to pursue my Master’s degree. I’ve always had a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to supporting their mental health journeys. I find it truly rewarding to see
